Day 4 of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA) showcased the diversity of the Australian fashion industry.
Shows of the day
Romance Was Born , C/Meo Collective, We Are Kindred, Daniel Avakian, Kitx, Emma Mulholland, Yuxin, Di$count Universe, Tome, P.Jamé.
Highlights
The bold, quirky designs by Romance Was Born were always going to be a show stopping affair.
Hosted at an immaculate private residence in Carthona, Darling Point, the stunning tea-party themed collection suited the ambiance that the location created.
The 1970s proved to be a major dominating influence within the collection with sheer pussy-bowed dresses, ruffles and oversized sun hats. However, there was also a fusion of 1920s inspiration, with flapper style dresses being key looks.
The fab front row
Jenny Kee, Edwina McCann, Christine Centenera and Carla Zampatti were spotted at the exuberant Romance Was Born show, whilst Anna Heinrich was spotted at the Daniel Avakian show.
What they wore
Tonal dressing was a major look during day 4 of MBFWA, with trendsetters playing with layering and proportions; often baring their legs while wearing oversized coats. Hair was stylishly unkempt in loose waves and curls, creating a bohemian vibe.
Favourite Beauty Look
The peach and glitter lids, paired with the bright red doll lips at Romance Was Born definitely brought the wow factor to MBFWA.
Quote of the day
“The view is almost as amazing as the collection.”
Ultimate Street Style Moment
We are obsessed with Sabo Skirt designers, Thessy Kouzoukas and Yiota Karalouka, looks from today. The tonal dressing, bright shoulder bags, thigh high boots and chic trainers are on point.
