As Roxy Jacenko prepares to battle her recent breast cancer diagnosis, we reflect on the survivor she has proven herself to be in the wake of personal and professional challenges.
PR tour de force, entrepreneur, digital influencer, mother of two, devoted wife and all round boss lady. There are SO many words we could use to describe popular Sydney based PR agent Roxy Jacenko and today, following the distressing news of her breast cancer diagnosis, we can now add fighter to that list.
Jacenko received the difficult news just days after she noticed a suspicious lump while taking a shower and it has, understandably, floored her. Like a true warrior, Jacenko is preparing to tackle this hurdle head on and hopes that the news will promote awareness of the issue and encourage other women to see their doctor for regular breast examinations.
Jacenko has had her fair share of knock backs in the past two years, with her husband recently incarcerated for insider trading and her daughter Pixie having been the victim of indecent cyber attacks. Perhaps that is what it is like for a high powered business woman living a fast, furious, public lifestyle, but we know that Jacenko is a self-made, clever, driven, hard working individual and our money is on her to win.
We are sure Jacenko will take this in her stride as she conquers everything she sets her mind to with the energy and positivity of an inspiring go-getter. As we all prepare to throw our collective weight and support behind her in this unfortunate set of circumstances we know that Jacenko is a survivor and we are sure that's just how she would want us to refer to her.
In her recent interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, she summarises what it is like to be human in the face of adversity: "I've weathered the storm in this [ ] situation, only just...I am tough but I'm also soft inside." And we praise her for it. Here's to you Jacenko, we are there for you in this uncertain time and we know the rest of Australia will be too.
