Casa Nostra Ristorante is set to make a major stir

This is one restaurant you won't want to miss!

Casa Nostra Ristorante is set to make a stir

Two Brisbane locals Biagio and Sarah Biuso have just returned home after a long stint in Cairns, with their newest dining project set to open in Brisbane sometime this month.

They're the dynamic duo responsible for Red Hill's popular Biagio, Alberto's Trattoria in Bondi, Zollis Trattoria in Townsville and, of course, Marina Paradiso in Cairns where they have been based for the last few years.

The power couple have been working in Italian restaurants for decades and their passion for delivering incredible food and service is evident in every venue they have created. No doubt this new Brisbane addition will be no exception to this.

[RELATED: The complete guide to deciphering dress codes]

Casa Nostra Ristorante will introduce Brisbane diners to authentic, handmade Sicilian cuisine served up in a warm and welcoming environment, providing a true Italian dining experience in the heart of Fortitude Valley.

Handmade being the key word here: everything on the menu will be made in house. From fresh, hand-made pasta to the flavoursome pizza sauces; Casa Nostra will use local, seasonal ingredients in their dishes.

Brisbane restaurant's you need to go to

This strictly traditional and authentic creation of food is something quite rare in this day and age, and is no doubt going to cause quite a stir in the Brisbane dining scene.

Meaning 'our home', Casa Nostra will focus on Italian cuisine with a difference, offering a large range of fresh seafood, meats, pastas, pizzas and of course deserts.

Does anyone else's mouth water at the mention of grilled local scallops and sautéed prawns in a sauce of tomato, feta cheese and avocado? Not to mention the bed of handmade fettuccine and fresh seafood, topped with Biagio's Sicilian sauce, made from a special family recipe.

Creating a homely, comfortable experience is something that Biagio and Sarah Biuso are passionate about.

“Every diner who comes through the doors will be treated like a guest in our home. We want to make people feel truly welcome – like our house is their house,” says Sarah Biuso.

As Brisbane is a relatively young city in comparison to the rest of the world, tradition and culture can sometimes become lost and forgotten, especially when it comes to authentic food. This is a gap that Sarah and Biagio are sure to fill.

We are so excited to book a reservation at Casa Nostra and indulge in some beautiful, handmade cuisine.

Stress is to blame for stubborn, hard to lose kilos

Fitness and diet programs don't work if you're stressed!

Fitness and diet programs don't work if you're stressed!

Have you ever wondered why it is so hard to lose those last 5 kilos after plateauing? Or why despite the right diet and gym routine every day you can't lose weight? Blame your brain, it is actually stress that is making you overweight. According to the founder of Uppy, Laura Moore, a performance and health coach, the body doesn't understand the difference between a real or perceived threat so although someone may only be stressed about the amount of emails in their inbox, the body goes into fight or flight mode. This sets off a chain reaction of biochemical events in the body that piles on the pounds.

Laura has listed the ways that stress sends the body into chaos and how to fix it.

Belly Fat

Public enemy number one. When an individual is stressed the adrenal glands in the body are activated which release adrenaline to increase the heartrate and blood flow, as well as cortisol to flood the body with glucose for immediate energy. Cortisol however also slows down the body's metabolism to maintain the glucose supply, and when it isn't used, it is stored as fat...on the stomach! These elevated glucose levels also suppress insulin levels which decreases energy in the cells. As a result the brain sends out hunger signals which causes over-eating.

Sleep

When we don't get a good night's sleep it disrupts the hormones ghrelin and leptin in our body. These hormones turn our appetite on and off and tell the brain what to do with the fat (use for energy or store it). Lack of sleep will confuse the process and you will experience unnecessary hunger, not know when you are full, and store fat when it should be burned. Furthermore our ability to perform at our best and make good decisions depends on the amount of sleep we have had, so on a day after little sleep you may choose to forgo exercise and choose poor meal options.

Digestion and calories

When the body is trying to fight a threat it shuts down anything not integral to survival at that moment, therefore when the body is stressed it normally shuts down the digestion system. Food is then not digested properly and a toxic build up ensues. These toxins retain fat and excess water resulting in you feeling puffy and sluggish. The calories we eat need sufficient nutrients in order to build tissue or burn fat. If our digestion is poor we don't absorb the nutrients and the calories cause excess fat. The absence of the nutrients also triggers an urge to eat and leaves us feeling consistently hungry and in 'fat storage mode', making weight loss very difficult.

Exercise

Exercise can be stressful on the body but not necessarily a negative stress. If your body is in a constant heightened state of stress then it will already have excess hormones and doesn't need any more. Exercise releases cortisol but if the levels are already too high in your body then it could contribute to weight gain. In this type of situation, re-evaluate the type of exercise and intensity and notch it down until the optimal state of the body is restored.

How do we fix it?

According to Laura the best way to overcome “stress induced fat” is to do the following:

  • Sleep 7-8 hours a night (it has been said time and time again but it is true).

  • Turn off technology 30-60 minutes before sleeping (the blue light it emits kills melatonin which is needed to sleep) and establish a relaxing sleep routine.

  • Eat simple meals with no more than 7 ingredients and make them whole, natural ingredients.

  • Practice yoga and meditation (even start with diaphragmatic breathing) – this helps increase awareness and is the best way to relax the sympathetic nervous system, giving you a sense of calm and clarity.

  • Know what your stress triggers are and devise to deal with them.

  • Get professional advice.

  • Do what makes you happy – schedule it in at least once a week and don't let anything distract you from it.

How to shop like a pro and be stylish on a budget

The tips and trick on how to shop like a pro and look like a million bucks (without paying it!).

The tips and trick on how to shop like a pro and be stylish on a budget.

Keeping up with every latest fashion trend can be exhausting (on both your mind and your wallet!) It's virtually impossible to own every single on trend piece. Trends change as quickly as our Aussie 'winter' weather and we understand that staying stylish can sometimes seem expensive.

We can all safely but bashfully admit to that drawer filled with old accessories that we just know that we'll never wear again – those pieces that make is go, "what was I thinking"!

While splurging on one or two statement pieces won't break the bank, we all know too well that season after season it tends to all add up.

Stuck for ideas on how to look your best on a budget? Read on and discover exactly how to exude style, without dipping into your savings.

The tips and trick on how to shop like a pro for shopaholics.

Back to the basics

Get yourself some wardrobe essentials. We're talking a good pair of jeans, a leather jacket and an array of tees. Stick to neutral tones for maximum wearability. There is no need to spend a lot on these pieces, but aim for a decent quality product so you're not constantly replacing them.

Shop smart and invest in quality

Whether it's on yours wish-list or a reward for kicking goals at the office, save up and invest in one or two amazing additions. Buy yourself those black Chloe ankle boots you've been lusting over for months, or that Chanel tote that you've always dreamt of, don't hesitate to spend big (occasionally) on a few, simple, designer staples. Opt for items that will work best with your array of usual outfits and pieces that you know will never go out of style. Think about cost per wear when it comes to investing in quality wardrobe pieces.

On trend outfit toppers

Now that you've got your basics, you can simply update your style and stay on trend with a simple finishing touch. Head on down to your nearest chain store or affordable boutique (whether it be major players such as H&M, Zara and Topshop, or smaller stores such as Dissh and Collete), and grab yourself the latest on trend pieces and accessories at a great price. It could be as simply as adding a choker, a hat or a cuff, but this minor adjustment is guaranteed to take your outfit from simple to stylish in seconds.

Looking incredible doesn't have to cost you your weight in gold. There are easy and affordable ways to stay up to date each and every season. Your basics and classic designer additions will provide you with a flawless foundation for your ensemble, easily updated with trending pieces as required. Buy yourself these few, essential items and never feel out of style again!

The rise of superstar, Selena Gomez

It's the power of personality - Selena Gomez is more than the internet's favourite face...

It's the power of personality - Selena Gomez is more than the internet's favourite face...

Earlier this year we witnessed Selena Gomez in a stellar performance in Bad Neighbours 2, and now in the trailer for her new movie The Fundamentals of Caring has been released and we're all totally obsessed!

As we sit here drooling over how gosh darn cute she is, it begins to raise the question... why does everybody love and adore Selena so much?

She's the most followed person on Instagram, with a measly 81.4 million and counting. This is four times the population of Australia, or a few million more than the whole of Germany - wowzers.

Sure her babyface features and cute husky voice would have something to do with it... but it seems there is a lot more behind her success and the ways in which she influences others.

She is heavily involved with multiple charities, and has granted that many Make-A-Wish requests that the organisation gave her a special award to show their appreciation.

This means she happily juggles being a movie star, an international pop queen with a world-wide tour, a social life with her uber cool besties like Taylor Swift and Gigi Hadid, along with being a major philanthropist.

If we complain about not having enough time to go to the gym in the morning I think we need to re-think a few things.

A photo posted by Selena Gomez (@selenagomez) on

As we all know, Selena has been trapped in a very public pop-culture soap opera since 2009 with her equally as famous ex-beau Beiber.

Although in many ways this relationship defines her, it shows young women all around the world that no matter what happens or how badly you're hurt, there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

She has survived the car wreck of child fame, the trolls and the paparazzi, that very public relationship (and break up)... and has emerged from it seemingly more human than ever.

“She loves her fans and constantly promotes self-confidence and being kind to one another.” says one of her fans, a Selanator.

In a recent performance of “Who Says”, a song devoted to loving who you are... her fans scream the lyrics back to her which brings her to tears.

In an era of nude picture scandals, sex tapes and copious drug use, Selena Gomez stands out at being completely different from many of her young Hollywood cohorts.

She's responsible, honest and positive... it just goes to show how powerful personality really is.

Babs Bodycare Body Oil stars hemp and we're loving it

Cannabis Satvia - this is Babs Bodycare's secret ingredient...

babs02

There is no question that a natural and organic approach makes all the sense in the world when it comes to what you eat... so what about what you put on your skin? As the largest organ of your body, it not only absorbs nutrients but can also absorb nasty toxins – this is why it's important to be aware of what you use on your face and body every day! Babs Bodycare is a 100% natural, non-toxic and chemical free beauty brand that is all handmade in Melbourne, Australia. They are of course cruelty free too, for those who like to cleanse and moisturise with a conscience.

My sensitive skin is generally very dry so I love the rich, nourishing moisture that face oils deliver... but you'll be surprised to find that the Babs Bodycare Face Oil is also perfect for combination and oily skin types too. This is because problematic skin is generally dehydrated and stripped from over cleansing and exfoliating. This is where Babs Bodycare Face Oil comes to your rescue (it may or may not be wearing a mini green cape in my imagination), delivering essential fatty acids that tell the sebaceous oil glands to “just relax”.

Why InspireCycle is Brisbane's new exhillerating ride

Have you heard about InspireCycle - the new movement that is taking Brisbane by storm?

Have you heard about InspireCycle - the new movement that is taking Brisbane by storm?

Well, let us introduce you! InspireCycle, a new boutique spin studio has launched in Teneriffe is bringing an all-new energising and invigorating workout to our City.

How? Simple, they're taking indoor spin classes to a whole new level by taking riders on a 45-minute breathtaking, music-thumping journey of the mind, body and soul.

Want to know more? We sat down with InspireCycle Founder, Kate Stocks to talk about this energetic ride and why it's more than just exercise.

What does an InspireCycle class involve?

InspireCycle is the latest cycle alternative, it combines the bike as a base then adds atmosphere (candle lit studio) and a great sound system to create an “inspiration chamber”.

What motivated you to open up a cycle class in Brisbane?

InspireCycle was started as a labour of love after researching emerging fitness trends in the US and UK... We wanted Brisbane to experience a workout you don't just do, but a work out you can really feel

What are some of the benefits of this workout and how quickly can our readers expect results?

We at InspireCycle ... want to build long, lean, toned muscle over the entire body, whilst strengthening the core. We ride mainly out of the seat but when seated we use weights to tone the upper body and strengthen the core. The results are a workout that is high intensity, full body in nature and are high calorie burning (500-700 calories in 45 minutes). Other than the obvious physical benefits, our riders are able to clear their minds and challenge themselves both physically and mentally through positive thoughts, inspirations and meditations. Depending on frequency, your fitness will improve quickly and changes will be noticeable in 4 weeks.

nspireCycle, a new boutique spin studio has launched in Teneriffe and is bringing an all-new energising and invigorating workout to our City.

What genre of music do you play during the class and why do you think it enhances the workout experience?

We play all genres of music at InspireCycle, the instructors never use the same playlist twice.

InspireCycle is built on a solid 45 minute cardio and full body workout on a bike. Do you think this is a new fitness trend for 2016?

If we look overseas to the US and UK, this type of workout has been gaining traction in the fitness sector and growing rapidly since 2006. People become addicted and bring their friends to enjoy a mix of cardio, a full body workout and a party - all in 45 minutes! It is a growing movement, more than a fad or trend.

What are the benefits of cycling opposed to other types of exercise?

Cycling (the InspireCycle way) gives a really strong cardio workout and a high calorie burn in a relatively short amount of time. The workout is low in impact [so] injuries are almost non-existent.

What advice do you have for our readers who might be nervous about trying an InspireCycle class for the first time?

Taking an InspireCycle class is not as scary as you may think. Arrive 15 minutes early so that you can get ready for the class. Our instructors can help you set up your bike correctly and will guide you through the workout, telling you when to increase or lower your resistance, pedal faster and rise or sit.

[During the class] there is high-energy music blasting that keeps you moving. Remember, you are ultimately in control!

Do you have any exciting plans for the year ahead?

We are planning to open another site on the Gold Coast in 2016. It is an exciting ride for us too!

Join the movement and visit InspireCycle at their studio in 76 Commercial Road, Teneriffe QLD 4006.

Kardashian lip kits rivals Kylie Cosmetics

A little bit of sibling rivalry is always healthy, but we're not too sure if the golden Kardashian trio have stepped a little too far over the line.

Kardashian's stole Kylie's lip kit

Kylie Jenner is renowned for her lips, and more importantly, her lip kits. Whilst she has received some bad press about malfunctions over her immortalised lip kits (who can ever forget when the Kylie Cosmetics scam leaked consumers details?!) her lip kits continue to sell out within minutes time and time again.

However, now Kylie's older sisters Kim, Kourtney and Khloe seem to be trying to steal their little sis' fame by jumping on the lip trend too. Kardashian Beauty have announced they are releasing their own line of matte lip colours.

And what's even more scandalous, the Mirror Matte Lip Colours for Kardashian Beauty features the dusty nudes that Kylie Cosmetics are renowned for.

A photo posted by Kylie Cosmetics (@kyliecosmetics) on

However, we can't help but think that the packaging of the Kardashians lip colours look a whole lot cheaper than Kylie's Lip Kit. Also, who else remembers when Kim asked Kylie for a crash course on being cool? Yup, we suspect major copy-cat syndrome right here.

(Can we also just take a moment to say how much all the girls featured on the Kardashian Beauty Instagram look like a Kardashian?!)

We wonder if the Mirror Matte Lip Colours will be as popular as Kylie's Lip Kits?

Liam Hemsworth confirms engagement

Liam Hemsworth has finally, well kind of, confirmed the he and Miley Cyrus are engaged!

Liam Hemsworth has confirmed engagement to Miley Cyrus

There has been plenty of speculation about the status of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's relationship. The newly rekindled flame were first spotted ringing in the new year together at Australia's Falls Festival, and since then there's been plenty of sightings of Miley wearing a diamond ring and rumours that they've bought a house together near Liam's brother, Chris Hemsworth's, mansion home in Malibu.

However, Liam, who usually keeps his relationship with Miley on the hush hush, spoke out about his relationship with the pop star to Australia's GQ.

“(Our split) was actually a good decision at the time... we were both going in different directions and it's just what needed to happen. We were both super young... we both needed that."

When posed with questions about whether the couple are now re-engaged, Liam mysteriously confirmed the allegations.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsowrth engaged

"People will figure it out, they already have... they're not dumb,” said Liam.

"I guess when I feel something, then I just feel it and I go for it. I make my decisions about what's going to make me happy, what I think is right, and what I want to do and I don't worry too much outside of that."

Ooh la la! We're going to take that as a yes!

Jay Z responds to Beyonce's Lemonade drama

Stop everything...

Jay Z has just (kind of) responded to Beyonce's infamous Lemonade Album.

beyjayz01

There's no need to raise your hand slowly and admit it. We all partook in the digital hunt to find 'Becky with the good hair'. Though many accusations have been made, it still remains a mystery as to who and what Queen Bey was trying to tell us.

So the question lingers - was Jay Z actually disloyal or is this all just a hugely intelligent, mindbogglingly scandalous campaign to attract attention to the power couple's streaming label, Tidal?

When Beyonce unexpectedly dropped Lemonade, the entire world went into meltdown mode. Fans and non-Tidal subscribers wanted to see, hear and experience the hype but unless we chose to sign up to the streaming app, we all painfully patiently waited for it to eventually appear on iTunes.

This was a smart move because statistics show that the Lemonade release alone generated almost 2 million new subscribers who, after their 30 day free trial, had to pay approximately $16.99AUD monthly. Genius.

Jay Z's new (response) song is a remix of Fat Joe and Remy Ma's hit 'All the Way Up', and also features French Montana and Infrared. In the song, Jay Z address the rumours and references Beyonce's controversial album, the state of their marriage and that elevator incident.

Of course the song is also only able to be heard on Tidal... which is either going to create more sales for the business or make those who signed up for Tidal a few weeks ago feel way more in the loop than anybody else.

It's pretty vague, so we as gossip hungry fans can all come to conclusions without ever knowing the real truth... sound familiar?

“You know you made it when the fact/Your marriage made it is worth millions / Lemonade is a popular drink and it still is/Survival of the littest/We never gonna let the elevator take us down!”

There are rumours flying around that his entire rebuttal to the album will be in music form, instead of traditional press releases or social media statements. Our guess? The only place to see it first will be Tidal (surprise surprise).

The complete guide to deciphering dress codes

Smart casual, cocktail, black tie: What do these dress codes mean? Deciding what to wear can be one of life's biggest dilemmas (first world problem we know). Here's how to interpret your next invitation's dress code so you can stop stressing and get shopping!

Smart casual

Blair Waldorf Outfits

An often ambiguous term, smart casual can be deceptively hard to dress for. Essentially, what it means is clothing that is both neat and appropriate, but not overly formal. You will most likely be going to a garden party, beach wedding, ladies lunch or business event. Still lost? Think sun dresses, culottes and midi skirts; something you'd be comfortable wearing both to the office and out for afternoon drinks. It is essentially professional, stylish day wear. Nothing too short or revealing, or too dressy and over the top. Channel your inner Blake Lively and you will be all set!

Cocktail

Miranda Kerr outfits

Cocktail attire is pretty self explanatory. Cocktail parties literally involve a bunch of people standing around enjoying cocktails (and a few sneaky canapes); sound's pretty great to us! But don't make the mistake of over dressing. Cocktail dresses are predominately short. Miranda Kerr is definitely our go to girl for cocktail style. Follow her lead and opt for a mini dress if possible, (midi if you must), but stay away from floor length gowns for these sorts of events. However, despite the fact that short dresses are preferable, don't fall into the trap of mistaking a cocktail dress for a party dress. You are not going clubbing, nor should you look like you are!

Evening/black tie

Karlie Kloss Kendall Jenner Gigi Hadid met gala outfits

This dress code is crystal clear for men; wear a tux! But for us girls it's a little more complicated. In our eyes, black tie is always long. A foolproof outfit would consist of a full length gown. However, in today's fashion-evolved society, there are quite a few more options at our disposal. Formal separates and statement skirts are on the rise. So, if you have a dressy new combo you'd like to trial, go for it (as long as it goes past the knee). For some added glam, channel Kendall and Gigi at last year's Met Gala – spice it up and try something bold. Who ever said formal had to mean boring?

So, next time you're stuck for a dress code, refer back to this guide and you will do no wrong. Follow our simple steps and enjoy your night in style.

Breaking: Brangelina headed for splitsville

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are heading for divorce!

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorcing

It's definitely been an A-lister divorce filled day! Earlier we announced the shock divorce of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Now, Women's Weekly has just announced that Hollywood's power couple, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are headed for splitsville. We can't bear the news!

According to Women's Weekly, a source told OK Magazine that the split is due to "explosive fights" over infidelity and Ange's deteriorating health.

“For a while, the excitement of getting married masked their troubles. But lately they've been having explosive fights. Neither of them is sure that they can, or should hang on anymore,” the source confessed.

The source continues to declare that the eternal creature of habit, Brad, is back to his old habits and cheating with his current co-star, Marion Cotillard. And what's worse, Angelina's health is down to a whole new low.

Brangelina headed for splitsville

“(Angelina) barely eats, she guzzles wine every night and she smokes constantly... Brad is exhausted from spending so much energy trying to get her to take better care of herself,” said the source.

While this goss is inevitably juicy, we're crossing our fingers that it isn't true!

However, we understand that if Brad has cheated once it would always be at the back of Ange's mind. After all, a cheater never loses their spots.

The merging of fashion bloggers & e-commerce stores

Fashion influencers and bloggers are bridging the gap between style and apparel sales by launching their own e-commerce stores.

Fashion influencers and bloggers are bridging the gap between style and apparel sales by launching their own e-commerce stores.

Fashion bloggers have been flaunting their elegant ensembles and flawless faces across our screens for several years now.

As arguably the most influential figures in the modern fashion scene, the items showcased on their outfit posts and Instagrams are certain to become the most coveted pieces of the week, instantly selling out online.

As a result, it was really only a matter of time before these stylish yet savvy superpowers demanded their share of the profit.

Just like reality star, Kylie Jenner, they came to the realisation that if the products (in Kylie's case lip liners and in theirs clothing) that they displayed were flying off the shelves in record speeds, why not get in on the action themselves?

We have seen a sudden surge of successful bloggers transforming their sites into e-commerce stores. Socialite, Nadia Bartel (Chronicles of Nadia) and super-blogger, Sara Donaldson (Harper and Harley) are set to launch their online stores in June and July, just to name a few.

These online stores will enable legions of loyal followers to 'shop their wardrobes' and buy items direct from their sites, without having to scrawl through pages upon pages of items in order to find the one they desire.

Donaldson has paired up will premiere brands including Ellery, Dion Lee, Toni Maticevski and J Brand Jeans while Bartel will feature labels such as Mara and Mine, Thurlet, Elizabeth and James and Viktoria + Woods.

We wonder, will this poses a threat for existing online boutiques who fail to boast such a familiar face?

How can they compete with these powerhouses? In our opinion, without innovative changes they won't be able to keep up.

These bloggers' thousands of dedicated followers are sure fire customers for the e-commerce sites and are guaranteed to keep coming back for more. Now bloggers are not only receiving income for their styling, modelling, writing and promotional endeavours, but from an entirely new avenue.

These clever content creators are revolutionising the world of fashion, continuing to surprise us, even in this incredibly advanced, digital age and we can promise that they won't be fading away, any time soon.

5 Obsessive things women need to stop doing to guys

I'm not afraid to call it how it is...

5 Obsessive things women need to stop doing to guys

As women we are vulnerable yet beautiful human beings who somehow always over complicate relationships. There is no denial that we find ourselves making excuses for his shortcomings (take it how you will) and continue to complicate the realities.

BUT, what happens when we have no choice but to wake up and face the truth? The moment we decide to take a long look at ourselves and re-evaluate the desperately, clingy woman we somehow became?

Remember how only a few weeks ago you were this independent #girlboss who ran the world like your own version of Queen Bey? Then you meet this guy, your feelings kick in and somehow you quickly became this emotionally messy mush of romance. Now, I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with the uncontrollable emotions of love (lust) but we need to at least experience it with a backbone.

So ladies here's 5 obsessive things we do to guys that needs to seriously stop.

Obsessing about when he is going to call, DM, text or Snapchat you.
The waiting game is the hardest. Is he going to call? When is he going to text? Ahh, he opened your Snapchat but never responded!

Does this sound familiar? We have all fallen victim to being impatient but we can't let this run our lives. Try and keep your wits about you and continue with life - if he wants you, you'll hear from him.

Obsessing about 'your' status.
Are we officially dating yet or is this a casual fling? Does this relationship have potential and is it going anywhere? Warning: Those questions will do your head in. Don't try and figure it out on your own. Why not sit down with him and have a light-hearted (or serious) discussion about what 'this' really is? And if he can't handle it and hold a mature conversation around the topic, then there's your answer.

Obsessing over every detail of your last conversation.
Stop dissecting each word he said and inventing a new meaning behind every sentence. Quit thinking that his mannerisms are implying something else. Remember, guys are simple and usually what they mean - they mean.

Obsessively stalking every single friend, family member, mutual connection and ex-girlfriend he has on social media.
Yes, hunny .... put down the phone. It's time to practice self-control. Say no to those highly addictive late night scrolls on his Facebook feed. It's only going to mess with your head and get you hypothetically stressed out.

Obsessing about why he didn't commit.
You would think this would be the deal breaker but our mind chooses to convince us otherwise. Believe it or not, but we're addicted to the chase and we always want what we can't have. It's where the heartbreak, longing and desperation starts to swallow us up. But the goal is to stop yourself. I know it's scary to face the truth of being alone, but your moment with him was short lived. It's time to close the door, move on in your own way and start to focus on repairing the beautiful woman that you are.

Of course every relationship is different, but sometimes we obsess a little too much. Next time things become an emotional whirlwind of chaos - take a deep breath, stand up straight and remember that ultimately you are in control.

The fashion faux-pas guys need to stop making now!

The men's fashion rules that should never be broken!

The men's fashion rules that should never be broken!

For many of us, fashion isn't just the clothes on our back. It's an attitude, a lifestyle and often times, an obsession. If you fall into this category, we are sure that you will agree that there is nothing that will stand in the way of a second date more than a guy who breaks the ever so sacred rules of our fashion bible. Guys, read on and please, for all of our sakes, take note!

1. Thongs

Unless you are making a quick dash across scorching hot sand or at the beach there is absolutely no excuse for thongs. In our opinion, thongs do not even classify as shoes, and should only be worn at the beach (if at all). So, boys don't even think about throwing them on for a trip to the shops , there's nothing remotely attractive about exposed toes, believe us.

2. Jeans and joggers

We can't believe this isn't already engrained in everyone's minds, but unfortunately (for our eyes), a few recent sightings have shown a definite need for reiteration. Sneakers are designed for exercise, and exercise alone. Guys, please do us all a favour and get yourself a pair of loafers and leave the joggers in your gym bag.

3. Over-doing the cologne

No girl can resist a delicious smelling man. But boys, in this case, less is always more. Save us from possible suffocation and use your spray sparingly. We also suggest that you invest in a decent quality scent, no one likes the sickly sweet smell of a chemist brand cologne – and believe us, we can smell the difference!

4. Accessory overload

Watches and wedding rings aside, if you ask us, accessories are pretty unnecessary additions to a man's ensemble. What can we say? We like it simple. So, please put down the dangling chains and shark tooth bracelet (it's not the 2000s). Stick with a statement timepiece and you're set.

5. Clashing patterns and colours

One of the most common mistakes among men, mixing patterns and tones is definitely not something we would recommend. Unless you have the sixth sense of the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, your outfit is just going to come across as mismatched and clumsy. We can't stress enough how sexy we find a plain black tee – you can really do no wrong.

6. Baggy pants

I'm sorry to disappoint, but you are not a 90s rapper; you just look scruffy. We don't want to see your striped boxers, or even worse, what's underneath them. Grab yourself a belt and pull up your pants!

7. Too tight tops

We all love a little glimpse of the gun show, but T-shirts that could have been sprayed on? So not sexy. Get a shirt that actually fits you and leave a little to our imaginations, please.

8. Buttoned to the top tops

You are not a priest, leave the top two to three buttons undone.

This might seem pretty self explanatory, but we can vouch for the fact that these cringe worthy mistakes are still very much visible. Boys, if you're reading this, stay away from these eight things and watch the dates roll in. I bet you never would have guessed how much a proper pair of shoes could really help!

Rihanna's outrageous green outfits

Rihanna steps out in two, questionable, green ensembles.

In the past few days, our eyes have been subjected to not just one, but two, show stopping Rihanna outfits. Green, being the colour of choice poses us with one, blaringly obvious question: WHY?

We're all for going green, from our juices to our garbage, but our dresses? Not so much. Not only were they green, but quite curious in their designs to boot. The first, a sheer lace ensemble - yet another testament to her involvement in the Free the Nipple campaign. This was followed up with none other than a lime green tutu of sorts.

We really can't wrap our heads around why RiRi has made these quirky, style choices, but we can't deny the facts: if anyone can pull it off, it's her. She never fails to leave us green with envy at her unparalleled ability to rock just about any ensemble (remember last year's Met Gala disaster?), but it's safe to say that this is one trend we won't be trying any time soon.

Beauty & the Beast teaser trailer will give you chills

The Beauty and the Beast teaser trailer is here and we seriously can't even!

The Beauty and the Beast teaser trailer is here and we seriously can't even!

Ever since Disney announced they will be creating a live action remake of Beauty and the Beast, we have been dying to see the trailer.

As if Emma Watson wasn't a princess enough in real life, soon we will see her play one on screen too. Could there have ever been more perfect casting?

The wait is over people, pressing play on this is sure to send tingling chills up your spine in excitement.

On a scale of 'one' to 'can't even', we're definitely at the higher end of things.

The movie is set to premiere on 17th March, 2017. If you're wondering who else is cast in the movie, Ewan McGregor is set to play Lumiere, Luke Evans as Gaston and the charming Dan Stevens from Downton Abbey as the beast.

The cinematography and music score is set to be out of this world. There was, however, no sight of the infamous yellow ball gown, which we can't wait to lust over.

Yes Disney... we will be your guest.

You have to know Beyonce's stylist Marni x Marni!

Girl Crush Altert: Find out why you have to follow Beyonce's trend-setting stylist Marni Senofonte or 'Marni x Marni' on Instagram stat!

You have to follow Beyonce's trend-setting stylist Marni Senofonte or 'Marni x Marni' on Instagram.

If you thought Beyonce's stylist was sure to have an equal amount of girl power and sass as the Queen B herself.... then you were spot on!

Marni Senofonte (known as @marnixmarni on the gram) is the ultra chic, bad ass mastermind behind Beyonce's outfits in the last few years, both in public and on stage.

She created all of the looks for the “Formation”, “Feeling Myself” and “7/11” music vidoes alongside the entire hour long production of Lemonade – which we all know absolutely slayed in the outfit department!

*Raises hands up to the fashion gods thank them for Marni's existence

Senofonte has worked for over 20 years as a stylist and has dressed some of the world's most iconic RnB celebrities like Kelly Rowland, Ciara, Monica, Cassie and Mary J Blige.

Not only does she know how to dress others... but boy does she know how to dress herself (and pull some fierce poses to boot)! Senofonte oozes 'cool' in all her epic outfits on Instagram, and looks as though she has the attitude to match.

Senofonte often ventures into the old-school 90's era, as she told Vogue once in an interview: “new is the old”. Her bright and feminine take on current streetwear is super cool, and she often clashes Victorian lace and baroque gold with structured denim and leather. Senofonte style is like a luxurious, couture tomboy... and we absolutely love it!

She's a total trend-setter so make sure you follow Marni X Marni on Instagram for the ultimate #styleinspo.

7 Deadly Relationship Sins & how to avoid them

Avoid these seven deadly relationship sins and have the harmonious and loving relationship you desire.

Avoid these seven deadly relationship sins and have the harmonious and loving relationship you desire.

Do you wish you could avoid arguments in your relationship? Below, you will discover the seven common ways to ring the death knell to any relationship, and how to avoid it.

Sin: Pride

Does your pride prevent you from acknowledging your partner and their success? Are you overly consumed by your own importance and neglect your partner? Do you refuse to admit when you are in the wrong? Or do you refuse to seek help when you need it?

You need to learn to let go of the ego and embrace humility. Start to acknowledge and appreciate the little things your partner does. Be prepared to concede when you are in the wrong. Swallow your pride and ask for help occasionally.

Sin: Wrath

Have your past relationships left you feeling angry, bitter and vengeful? Do you over react to your partner with anger or rage?

Holding onto these past emotions will only lead to arguments and conflict in your current and future relationships. Instead, let go of your anger, bitterness and revenge around wanting to get back at others for what they did or did not do.

Sin: Lust

Do you excessively think about or physically desire someone else while you are in a relationship? Have your been cheating on your partner with your thoughts, emotions or behaviours?

If you are sending out mixed messages to your partner they will pick up your indecisiveness, which can lead to arguments. To stop the mixed messages, you need to fully commit to your partner, strengthen your attraction towards them, and eliminate the inappropriate attraction you feel for anyone else.

Sin: Gluttony

Do you strive to keep up appearances and overextend yourself financially? Are you too needy towards your partner?

This can especially be an issue in relationships where one partner was brought up to believe “waste not want not”, while the other did not value things as much as they were growing up.

Reach some agreements around finances and priorities that accommodate both partners' needs, and then respect these. If you are too needy or desperate for love and attention, address these otherwise you may push your partner away with your needy behaviour.

Sin: Sloth

Are you or your partner not using your talents fully? Is your partner's “laziness” annoying or frustrating you?

When one partner is driven to pursue their passion and uses their talents fully and the other partner is not, it can lead to frustration for both partners.

Open and honest communication about each partner's goals, values and priorities is important. If your and your partner's goals and values are different, then you can respect and work with the differences to make the relationship work.

Sin: Envy

Are you envious of your partner's success and happiness? Do you resent your partner's lifestyle?

Often what we envy in our partner is what we lack in ourselves, hence why we desire it.

Do you believe that you are deserving or worthy of having success and what you want? Are you resentful of yourself for not doing the things you want to do? Let go of these beliefs, and learn to celebrate your own and your partner's successes.

Sin: Greed

Does greed prevent you from sharing your time and success with your partner? Are you selfishly monopolising your partner's time and affection without reciprocating it?

Sit down and discuss your values, priorities and beliefs with your partner. Notice the common ground and any differences. Then agree on how you will effectively work with the differences.

By implementing the above, you will be able to avoid these seven deadly relationship sins and have the harmonious and loving relationship you desire.

Say hello to the perfect smile with HiSmile

A product review of the HiSmile Teeth Whitening Kit and Coconut Whitening Mouth Wash.

A product review of the HiSmile Teeth Whitening Kit and HiSmile Coconut Whitening Mouth Wash.

Hands up if you're coveting the perfect smile? Thanks to three of my teenage years spent wearing braces (I still cringe at the thought) I am quite happy with my smile, except for the fact that they aren't pearly white (let's blame it on the excessive wine coffee drinking).

Being a beauty fanatic I've attempted at home teeth whitening before, but always found the potent formulas were too strong for my sensitive teeth. Which is why I was really excited to try the HiSmile Teeth Whitening Kit and Coconut Whitening Mouth Wash; claiming to be 'the safest and most advanced teeth whitening product on the market, causing no sensitivity or pain'.

How it works:

1. HiSmile Teeth Whitening Kit - Simply attach the mouth tray to the LED light, squeeze the recommended amount of gel from the syringe into the tray and place it in your mouth. The LED light has a 10 minute timer which will beep let you know when to remove the tray. Rinse your mouth and the tray and voila!

What's included: LED Light, Mouth Tray, 3 Gels, Results Guide.

The kit provides around six to nine applications and it is recommended that you use the gel every day until you have achieved the results you want, then repeat the process on a monthly basis to maintain your results.

2. HiSmile Coconut Whitening Mouth Wash – This natural whitening mouthwash carries health benefits such as improving bad breath and boosting your immune system while encouraging healthy gums and strengthening mouth tissue. To use you simply squeeze a third of the tube into your mouth after brushing your teeth, swirl it around for two minutes then rinse your mouth with warm water.

Liked:

1. The HiSmile Teeth Whitening Kit is peroxide free and instead uses Sodium Bicarbonate to gently remove superficial stains from teeth. This means that it won't damage or weaken the tooth enamel, making this product ideal for anyone like me who deals with sensitive teeth. I also love how convenient the kit is to use – the mouth guard is comfortable and mess-free plus the 10 minute process (indicated with a light timer) makes it super easy to fit the teeth whitening into your everyday routine. Lastly, I didn't experience any uncomfort or stinging on my gums as I have with other teeth whitening brands.

2. I was pleasantly surprised by HiSmile Coconut Whitening Mouth Wash. I've tried 'oil pulling' (with a different oil) before and was not a fan, however with the coconut oil there is no bad taste and I strangely love the feeling of swishing the oil through my teeth. I genuinely do feel like it leaves my teeth and gums feeling cleaner and refreshed. Once again the packaging makes the product easy to use.

Disliked:

1. As expected with a product that is not as potent as some other at home teeth whitening kits I did not see an instant vast difference. Therefore you might have to purchase refills and use the kit for two weeks before you see significant results.

2. None.

Oscar de la Renta runway recap

MBFWA wrap up models backstage

The Oscar de la Renta show brought the amazing week of MBFWA to a close, featuring the elegant designs that the international designer is renowned for.

Being one of the first international designers to showcase at MBFWA, as well as having the stunning Australian Victoria's Secret Angel, Shanina Shaik, walking for the collection- the Oscar de la Renta runway was set to be a show stopping affair.

The best looks from MBFWA

The designs comprised of ultra-feminine cocktail dresses and gowns perfect for a summer ball, as well as immaculate tailored looks for everyday wear. The collections diversity was reflected through the use of bold colours within the collection, including magenta, sky blue and burnt orange; contrasted with delicate powder blue pieces in floral prints, lace and intricate embroidery.

Shanina Shaik stunned the crowd in two stylish looks, the first being a sophisticated clashing print dress with an incredible vintage Chanel-esque blazer, and an immaculate jewel incrusted gown.

The awe-inspiring finale featured an ivory bridal gown, layered in organza and embroidery. Two of the cutest flower girls we've ever seen walked alongside the model clutching a bouquet of spring flowers.

Bella Hadid walks at MBFWA recap

This year's MBFWA was jam packed with memorable and fabulous moments. Toni Maticevski's high-fashion opening show set the bar for this year's MBFWA, while Bella Hadid walking for MISHA Collection was, of course, a definite highlight for us.

This year's MBFWA featured incredible runways in refreshing locations, including Manning Cartell's retro show at Bradfield Plaza; Romance Was Born's playful celebration of colour and texture at an immaculate private residence in Carthona, Darling Point, and CAMILLA's Resort 17 runway which sailed around Darling Harbour on a luxurious yacht.

Key trends and street style

Of course any Fashion Week wouldn't be complete without the amazing street style of the trend-setters and celebs attending the shows. Westfield has taken us behind the scenes of MBFWA with model of the moment, Yaya Deng, as she talks to MBFWA's most stylish to find out this season's top looks and the best shows at MBFWA.

The majority of the beauty looks featured on the runways were natural with barely there foundation, and a strong emphasis on unkempt brows. However, certain shows played with bold lips, glitter and spider lashes, as seen at the Romance Was Born, Di$count Universe and We Are Handsome runways.

Hair was chic and sleek across the runways, with common looks being effortless low buns and pony tails.

12 Signs he is the toxic guy you should never date

The warning signs that he is toxic to your happiness. Here's the guy you should never date.

Sings he is a toxic guy you shouldn't date

The @ssh*le you should never date: When you first meet this guy you are instantly intrigued by his effortless charm and 'I don't give a sh*t' attitude towards life.

While he might seem like a refreshing addition to your boring, filled-with-dud's dating life, he is not the guy you should be starting a relationship with.

We're like that friend that only wants the best for you, so we have put together a list of values that you definitely do not want in a partner. If he ticks any of the below boxes it might be time to rethink your dating life.

He never offers to pay for anything

Whether he conveniently forgets his wallet when you're out for lunch or always insists on making you pay 'your half', you don't want to be dating the guy that is hung up on money. Or worse, the scrub... If he lives at home, doesn't have a car and talks a big game but has zero game in the cash department – RUN.

He always brings up the other girls he has been with

There is a time and place to bring up your previous relationships, but if he is always talking about the many other girls he has been with, he probably isn't taking you very seriously.

Signs he is the guy you shouldn't date

He doesn't have respect for the important women in his life

Look at the way he treats his mother, sisters and other women in his life. If he has no respect for them it is a clear indicator on the way he will eventually treat you.

He can't seem to hold down a job

To be fair we all have unfortunate events in life but if he can't seem to hold down any sort of stable job that is a serious warning sign.

He never makes time for you but expects you to drop everything for him

It's simple – if he likes you, he will carve out time for you. And no, this 'time' shouldn't just be for the late night booty calls. If he is truly interested in you he will make time for couple activities in public.

He leaves you hanging

So he promises to call but never does? He says he will take you out only to bail because of some lame ass excuse? You might be too strung up on him and convince yourself that he has a valid reason but honey, you deserve better!

Lauren on The Hills knows when he is a guy you shouldn't date

He's doesn't know how to clean

Don't pretend you don't like to peek around when you're at his place. If his room, his laundry and his bathroom is always dirty, that's a clear indicator on the grub he will be when you live together... and you don't have time to clean up after a man right!

It's all about him and his life

At first, it's great when a guy opens up to you about his life, his friends and his family. But when it becomes only about him and he never asks or is interested in your life, ladies I'm sorry but he simply does not care.

He is quick to lose his temper

Whether it's with you or the waiter at your dinner-date, if he loses his temper quickly, or disrespects people in general, it really does not reflect well on his morals.

If he takes his frustrations out on you it is a sign he is the toxic guy you shouldn't date

He is constantly criticising you

If he acts like he is in any way superior to you, get out of there as quickly as you can! You want someone who adds value to your life not brings out your insecurities.

He has lied to you on more than one occasion

There is no such thing as a little white lie when it comes to relationships.

He gets seriously messed up whenever he goes out

We are all entitled to having a good time, but you don't want to be with someone who gets sloppy-drunk and can't control himself every weekend.

The dating game can be tedious, but don't forget to put yourself first ladies. You deserve someone who realises how damn lucky he is to have you!
