Kendall Jenner and Estée Lauder poke fun at smartphone addictions

kendallestee02

The Kardasian-Jenner sisters are renowned for their #selfie skills, but in her latest campaign for Estée Lauder, Kendall Jenner is all about putting aside the smartphones and partying old school style!

Kendall Jenner’s latest adventure takes her to a dull party scene where everyone is almost robotically glued to their phones. Simultaneously everyone’s phone dies and... shock horror they have to mingle!

The film is a campaign for Estée Lauder’s Double Wear Makeup To Go, the iconic foundation formula in a portable spill-proof compact, which is clearly all you need to give you the confidence to mingle... well, that and a dead phone battery.

The campaign gives us total Scream Queen vibes and we rate it!

Demi Lovato poses near naked for Complex and talks body acceptance

DemiComplex01

Demi Lovato has officially decided to go bare and strip down like you've never seen her before! The Cool For Summer singer has embraced her sexy side and taken things to the next level with her cover for Complex Magazine.

It's clear for this shoot that Lovato has channeled her inner pinup girl. The daring cover has her posing in only electric blue, see-through underwear with animal print heels and a large inflatable banana. Wow!

A photo posted by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on

Apart from her bold lipstick and blood red nail polish, this stunner has also opened up about her old and new friendships and her views on body acceptance. Read on for our top 3 highlights.

On celebrity friendships:

I don’t really hang out with celebrities. I guess I do sometimes. I like Hailee Steinfeld. And Nick [Jonas]. But I don’t count Nick and Joe [Jonas] as celebrities. I’ve grown up with them. I’m not the type of person that’s on Instagram posting pictures of me and tons of my best friends. I have my core group, and they’re the type of people that will be there for me in the middle of the night. They’re the type of people that are like, “You’re being a bitch right now. Don’t talk to me that way,” and I’m like, “Whoa. Sorry. I didn’t realize it.” I don’t have anybody around me who kisses my ass.

A photo posted by Demi Lovato (@ddlovato) on

On her celebrity curve inspiration:

I’ve always said the Kardashians. When they came into the spotlight, they kind of revolutionized what beauty was when it came to body shapes. For so long, it was the heroin-chic ’90s supermodel thing, and I feel like, when the Kardashians came into the picture, people started to look at it because it was different. They were like, “You know what? That’s actually really beautiful.” From then, I noticed that Beyoncé was thicker, and Nicki Minaj is thicker. When I say thick—like when I call my thighs thick—I love it. I think it’s a good thing. Watching them really helped me learn to accept my body image, too. I’m not naturally super thin. I have an athletic body. I just have to embrace that. There are days when it’s hard to, but more and more, there are days where I’m actually proud of my body.

On not being afraid of confrontation:

No. When I heard “Bitch Better Have My Money,” I was like, “Fuck yeah!” That’s why I love Rihanna so much. And Nicki Minaj, too. And Iggy. She wouldn’t be afraid to say anything. It’s those strong, confident women in the industry that really inspire me. Also, somebody who was a random inspiration for some of the songs on this album was Ronda Rousey. She’s a confident, strong woman, and she’s actually a friend of mine.

Gigi Hadid defends her body and career on Instagram

GigiSlam02

Good on you Gigi Hadid for standing up for yourself. I don't know about you, but why do people have to be so harsh?

The gorgeous, international model took a stand on Instagram and told those body shamers that she 'is not going anywhere.'

You go girl! We're just surprised that those internet trolls can be so outspoken and rude. She is stunning and we know the industry thinks so too.

Regardless, Hadid gave the whole criticism thing a thought and responded to the haters with this message.

A photo posted by Gigi Hadid (@gigihadid) on

She wrapped up the post on a positive note. "I hope everyone gets to a place in their life where they'd rather talk about things that inspire them over things that bring them down."

With over 12,031 comments and 250k likes in less than 24 hours, the conversation is definitely in the spotlight.

5 Beauty apps that will make your life easier

beautyappbanner

As we all lead increasingly busier lifestyles and have less time on our hands, beauty companies are incorporating digital technology into their services. This technology is merging convenience and connectivity. It is transforming the way we interact with beauty products and services.

Technology has become intertwined with our beauty routines to bring a level of personalisation. Mobile apps are changing the way we interact with beauty products and services on a day-to-day basis. In the click of a button, anyone can virtually 'try on' cosmetics with their smartphone or erase that dark spot on our selfies. We have collated five fbeauty apps that are guaranteed to make your life (well at least the beauty aspect) much easier. Plus they are all free!

Makeup Genius

beautyappmakeupgenius

Created by French beauty brand L’Oreal Paris, the Makeup Genius app has revolutionised the way consumers research makeup looks. This app allows users to virtually apply makeup and yes, it works! Your smartphone camera acts as a mirror and ‘applies’ makeup over your lips, eyes and skin. Not sure whether that deep plum L’Oreal lipstick will suit your features? Now you can try it on!

TryItOn Makeup

beautyapptryiton

Similar to the first app, the TryItOn Makeup app allows users to virtually try on makeup. This app, however, contains makeup looks from nine popular beauty brands. The app claims to be so smart that it can analyse your skin pigments to accurately display what shade of foundation will suit you best. We’d say it is best to do this in natural lighting for the most accurate shade match. Finally, no more wasting money on products only to find out they don’t suit your complexion.

Beautylish: Makeup Beauty Tips

beautyappbeautylish

The Beautylish app is an online beauty community where users can find product reviews, recommendations and tips from other app users. The app even hosts video makeup tutorials! Once you are convinced of your purchase, you can even shop the Beautylish site within the app. The home for all your beauty needs!

Perfect365: One Tap Makeover

beautyapp365

Perfect 365 is a photo editing app that allows users to remove blemishes, erase under-eye circles, brighten skin, and whiten teeth plus so much more! Use this app to get your makeup selfies on fleek!

Beauty Product Reviews by TotalBeauty.com

beautyappreview

With more than 280’000 consumer reviews on up to 70’000 beauty products, this app is your go-to for seeing what products other beauty-lovers rate or hate. The only way to avoid buyers regret is to research all the product features and find honest reviews!

Technology is leading the way in the beauty industry and has us wondering... what's next?

How to lose a guy in 10 days: The Modern Edition

10DaysLoseAGuy02

Little introduction is needed. Basically, these are the things you don't want to do when dating. In the crazed, social media world we live in, it's easy to get caught up with apps and technology. Being highly present online rather than in the moment is a major do-not when starting a new relationship.

So thanks to Kate Hudson from 'How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days,' we have a modern edition to losing a guy in 2015.

1. Send him a tweet asking if he could go on a juice cleanse with you for 7 days then hashtag #lovehim #relationshipgoals #healthycouple.

2. Always Facetime him so you can see where he is and what he is doing.

3. Periscope your date nights so all your friends can see what you're wearing.

4. Request him on LinkedIn and then question him about his life goals and job placements.

10DaysLoseAGuy04

5. Ask him to take 30-50 selfies with you on every date. You want to capture those memories.

6. Dedicate a lovey-dovey Dubsmash video to him and share it on all social media platforms.

7. Add all of his friends and family on Facebook and create a group so you can spam them with couple selfies.

8. Book him an Uber on his lunch break so he can meet you at the doctor surgery. (It's all about that moral support)

9. Send him 35 messages on WhatsApp about how much you miss him and can't wait to see him again.

10. When he doesn't answer your phone calls, text him the entire range of sad face and crying emojis. Wait a few minutes and then send him photo of you downloading Tinder.

11. Make your relationship Facebook official without telling him.

10DaysLoseAGuy06

12. Instagram stalk his ex, then post a quote which is clearly directed at her and then accidentally tag her and him.

13. Snapchat him a picture of your engagement ring. Just as a hint in-case he is feeling spontaneous.

14. Show him your extensive Pinterest boards of your inspiration for your dream wedding.

15. When he doesn't answer your call, phone him again, then send him a Facebook message, tweet, Snapchat, text, and finally an email. You have to cover all basis...

Why Isn’t Kim Kardashian Smiling Anymore?

NoSmile02

Followers of all things Kardashian have noticed a change in photos posted by the selfie-obsessed celebrity. Kim’s cheerful smile is nowhere to be seen. Instead, she is keeping her pearly whites hidden behind pursed lips. Costhetics what’s to know; what’s up with that? Bad oral hygiene? Wine-stained teeth?

The reason Kim has gone from grin to grim, it turns out, isn’t dental, it’s mental.

Kardashian explains that she once loved having her picture taken and her exuberant smile was a natural reflection of the fun she was having. When celebrity watchers and online haters began to mock her figure when she became pregnant, Kardashian found she didn’t have much to smile about. In an August interview published in C Magazine.

“I just didn’t feel like being that girl who was going to be smiling for every photo. It changed my mood; it changed who I was; it changed my personality a lot.” – Kim Kardashian

The experience permanently altered Kim’s perspective on her relationship with the media:

“After I had the baby, I was like, these are the same people that made fun of me, and posted the stories that were so awful, calling me fat for something I couldn’t control. I don’t want to smile for them.”

She’s Got a Big Bottom, But Thin Skin
Kardashian is no stranger to body shaming. She’s been scrutinised and criticised for her love affair with plastic surgery, particularly with regard to butt enhancement. However, after the birth of her first baby with husband Kanye West, Kim was widely criticised for her fashion choices, as well as her weight.

At that time, Kardashian put her wardrobe in the hands of stylists who pushed her post-pregnancy body into outrageous, high fashion garments. The blowback from the media was immediate and extremely negative. She admits that it “probably wasn’t the best time to be experimenting.”

Kardashian was devastated, in part, because she knew that her weight issues were out of her control. During her 2013 pregnancy, she suffered from preeclampsia, which caused her body to bloat even more than it would during pregnancy. It has turned her into an advocate on the issue, calling for understanding and compassion, rather than shaming for women who are troubled by the same problem.

Kim Doesn’t Let Extra Pounds Weigh Her Down
Kardashian has 43 million Instagram followers and a knack for igniting polarising perceptions about women, nudity, and the body beautiful. She has been approached by weight-loss giants like Weight Watchers to become a spokesperson for their products and services. To date, she has declined.

“Kim’s...not interested. A source very close to Kim tells us she actually doesn’t want to be on a timeline or pressured to lose weight, she doesn’t think it’s good for her to worry about.” – The Gossip Table

Karshashian says she is also less interested in being in front of the cameras and more interested in working behind the scenes. She’s got plenty to work on with a clothing line, a beauty line, and a new website: KimKardahsianWest.com.

Kim Kardashian dominates in latex for sexy new shoot

Latex, sultry, sexy and wet. Those four words pretty much sum up Kim Kardashian's latest PVC, photoshoot for her new app and website.

The reality TV star sports a bra-bodice, high waisted briefs and suspenders while taking an outdoor shower beachside in one of her favourite snaps.

She definitely has a way of embracing and celebrating her curves. But all that latex and beachside glam isn't enough for her to hit number one on iTunes.

As you know, the Kardashian and Jenner clan are competing for the top spot with downloads for their new app. And to Kim's surprise, Kylie Jenner dominated with over 1.75 million users in the first week while Kim only had 477,000. We're wondering if this dominatrix-styled shoot is a silent message of plans to redeem herself?

The latex photoshoot was shot by photographer Steven Gomilion. And comparing the collection to her previous booty baring images, these snaps actually seem more high fashion than shocking.

Of course, we love Kimmy but we're wondering how she's coping with not being the centre of attention? She might need to watch out, because Kylie seems to be stealing the spotlight.

Tommy Hilfiger Spring 16 has major Cuban influences

TommyHalgifer02

Cuban influences are set to be huge this Spring/Summer, and they have definitely been a major influencer for the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 16 collection titled, Island Hopping, which launched at New York Fashion Week on Monday.

The designs, inspired by the bright colours of the Caribbean, turquoise waters of Jamaica and the sandy beaches of Mustique Island, were made for relaxation and embrace the freedom that fashion can give for self-expression.

TommyHalgifer01

Silhouettes within the collection are relaxed, floaty and hold 1970’s influences. Bright, tropical flora and fauna inspired by textile artist Josef Frank are presented on billowing dresses, with the inclusion of vibrant stripes and tropical patchworks adding contrast to the pieces. An element of craftiness is included within the designs with beaded tapes trimming faded denim jackets and chinos, with traditional cricket sweaters and polos being made from crochet and netted mesh.

The collection creates a sense of wanderlust and has us pining for a tropical island getaway this summer.

4 things a woman thinks when her ex finds another lover

4ThingsThinksEx01

No matter how strong, fierce and independent you are, nothing cuts deeper than seeing the one you care about swooning over someone who in your mind does not deserve his affection or attention.

Falling in love, being emotionally vulnerable and letting down your walls so he could touch the real you takes guts. Obviously, after he has probed and imprinted your heart in ways you never thought were possible, it comes as no surprise how broken that can leave you.

So the feelings are still there, your eyes literally light up when you see him, but that's quickly covered by a cloud of insecurity which is provoked by a million and one questions by your subconscious.

Is he looking at me? Does he remember what we were like? Can he feel what I'm feeling?

Then the next wave of emotions hit and you remember all the reasons why you exited the unhealthy relationship.

So all of that seems normal when having to deal with an aching heart. But the part that kills is when that insecurity is turned into a flaming fire of jealously because he has a new woman to entertain him and his needs.

Right now, all you're doing is sorting out your feelings and trying to get into the right headspace. But then your hit with the news that he has a new boo thang that he's spooning every night. Assuming that he is still in your circle of friends, how are you meant to survive when you see his hand is gripping her thigh? Or when he whispers in her ear and she starts to giggle and you feel like vomiting? Are you supposed to be okay with this? Is it even possible to be civil in those overwhelmingly, complicated moments?

So it's in that exact second, reality hits and you start to crumble beyond belief. All of a sudden you realise you are still in love with him and now you can't have what you desperately want.

So here's 4 things every woman thinks when they see their ex with her.

She's the road block to the one you can't get over

Immediately you start sizing her up and comparing yourself to her. Surely, she can't be giving him what you gave or fulfilling him the way you did. Oh, of course they're in the honeymoon stage right now, but what happens when sh*t gets real. Either way, he's blinded by his new love and that's the road block. Because of her, he can't see you.

Is something wrong with me?

Why is this hurting a lot more than I thought it would? Though you may feel like you are alone on the single island, your new happiness won't be far away. Sometimes it is about exploring to see what's installed for you and your heart.

Do I want the past back?

Just because you're reminiscing on the past and those warm fuzzy feelings fill your stomach, does not mean that you suddenly want the past back. Maybe your questioning your decision and self-loathing seeps in, but seriously, calm down, you're allowed to be human.

How will I forget about you?

You make these promises to yourself: "I will not stalk your Facebook profile. I will fight the urge to text you. I will not get drunk and ruin my night by crying over you. I will throw out that necklace you gave me. I will never listen to our song again and I refuse to eat at our favourite restaurant."

But instead of being so tough on your heart, just be you! Enjoy who you are. The pain means you're alive. Heart breaks are part of the journey and in the meantime, keep working on doing fine without him.

You never know, you might find your new lover soon enough and he might be the one reading this ... Oh, now that's ironic.

Kylie Jenner opens up about those plastic surgery speculations

The Kardashian-Jenner clan almost broke the Internet last week with their app-and-website launches, which quickly made its way to the top apps on iTunes. Now Kylie Jenner has shared her thoughts on plastic surgery through her website.

In the article, titled, 'My Feelings on Plastic Surgery: The Whole Truth', the youngest sister denies having plastic surgery, other than one trip to the dentist, but states that she is “not against plastic surgery”.

today on my app/website. Links are in my bio.

A photo posted by King Kylie (@kyliejenner) on

Jenner has opened up about her lip fillers, but says there is no way she has had breast implants, attributing her ‘fuller figure’ to growing up. Jenner further says she has learnt many tips from makeup artists to make her feel more confident in herself, and that there are other things you can do to conceal problem areas without having plastic surgery.

The eighteen year old star says that although she has not had plastic surgery, she is not someone to say ‘never say never’... We wonder what has caused the youngest sister to address this topic at such a young age?

The latest Australian Spring Summer 2015/16 trends for you to try

We all know that the dominant Australian Spring/Summer fashion trends for 2015/16 is all about 70s glam, with the trend featuring on numerous runways across the globe. Key silhouettes for the season includes the flared trouser and midi skirt, whilst popular textiles this season are romantic white lace and graphics.

AUSSS15Trend01

Last year's popular culotte pant has been re-worked this season; resulting in the currently trending maxi-length, wide leg trouser. Trend-setter and socialite, Olivia Palermo, has dubbed the wide leg trouser a sophisticated yet on-trend staple this season. The wide leg trouser comes in a range of fabrics from silk and rayon to casual denim styles, making it a super versatile wardrobe addition. Stiff, structured wide leg trousers are tailored through the waist and thigh, flaring out from the knee, making the style perfect for the office, whilst relaxed styles featuring flowing fabrics and a streamlined shape are perfect for a night out on the town. The wide leg style is flattering for all body shapes as the cinched waist and wide legs of these trousers will flatter most body shapes.

AUSSS15Trend02

For Australian Spring 2015/16, midi skirts in billowing fabrics and light colours are set to be popular. The most flattering shapes cinches in at the waist and ends right below the knee. The high waist allows the skirt to be paired with a cropped top while still looking classy. If showing skin is not your thing, channel a Parisian-chic style by wearing the midi skirt with a soft, button down blouse. For a casual look, Olivia Palermo has been spotted styling the midi skirt with a button down chambray blouse and heeled sandals. Like the wide length pant, the midi skirt can be worn in a variety of ways to suit each body shape, making it the perfect wardrobe essential this Summer.

AUSSS15Trend03

Romantic, white lace will be a major textile this season, with woven, crochet lace being used to create 1970s inspired looks. Lace will feature everywhere, from long, calf length skirts, dresses and even as contrasting pockets on denim garments. Ultra-sheer, ethereal lace will also be a prominent aesthetic this season, as seen on the Valentino and Louis Vuitton runways. The tantalizing lace creates delicate, desirable looks through the peep of skin under the sheer lace, which is perfect for the Australian Spring Summer season.

AUSSS15Trend04

Graphic, mixed prints will be another dominate trend this Spring/Summer with contrasting patterns being paired and stitched together to create eye-catching, bohemian looks. Bright florals and paisley will feature heavily, being paired with contrasting patterns, like monochromatic stripes and patterns, as featured in Dior’s Resort ‘15 wear. The exotic combination of vintage fabrics, patterns and textures will aid in creating a 1970s ambiance this season.

The hottest beauty trend of Spring/Summer 2016 is brows! You might be thinking that brows are not a new trend, but we're not talking about the brows on your face.

Thigh brows are the latest celebrity Instagram trend, going against #thinspo and encouraging curves by embracing the roll of skin that appears at the top of the thigh when wearing high cut swimwear and underwear.

While in Miami last week to promote her lastest movie, Selena Gomez took a dip in the ocean sporting a very 80s inspired swimsuit and flaunting her ‘thigh brows’. The high-cut black one-piece bathing suit, detailed with a low-cut neckline looks seriously smoking on Gomez! The A-list celebrity also sported a healthy glow, full puckered lips and long lustrous lashes. Big lips and long lashes are all the rage for summer.

Can we all agree that Gomez is really working the latest ‘thigh brow’ trend and that risky bathing suit?

It’s time to let your inner shipwrecked-girl loose!

The Vivienne Westwood SS16 show at London Fashion Week is all about the Vivienne Westwood woman’s travels and being shipwrecked on a desert island. The collection features various contrasting textures, from embellished crystals to laser cut cottons, styled with sea-swept hair and minimal makeup.

The lead hairstylist for the show and Global Ambassador for TONI&GUY, Mark Hampton, took inspiration from a sixteenth century shipwreck painting. The hair is meant to look as if it had been submerged in the sea tides and dried naturally from the sun on a desert island. According to Hampton the key to sea-swept hair is texture.

“The waves are natural and uneven, as if the hair has dried naturally in the sun. Sea Salt Texturising Spray gives you the perfect ‘holiday’ texture without the crunch of hair that’s been damaged by the sun. My tip is to dry the product in with a diffuser to stop the hair looking too wet,” Said Hampton.

4 Steps to achieve the look with Mark Hampton:

  1. Prep your hair by applying TONI&GUY Prep Volume Plumping Mousse to damp hair, apply away from the face.
  2. Section the top half of the hair from temple to temple and secure with a hair elastic.
  3. Apply TONI&GUY Casual Sea Salt Texturising Spray to the lower half of the hair and work through to separate the strands. Create a bun by wrapping the hair in the elastic around itself and secure with a hairpin.
  4. To complete the look, take a section of hair from just behind one ear and pink across the forehead. Spray TONI&GUY Casual Flexible Hold Hairspray to seal the strand and secure the ultimate look.

This minimal-effort look is super stylish and easy to recreate! Now you too, can rock runway hair.
