Delfina's new spring menu flaunts delectable dishes

Delfina's Bistro has been tantalising Brisbane taste buds over the last few months with their scrumptious menu inspired by great food, great wine and a family friendly atmosphere.

Named after co-owner Kellie-Ann Ashton's grandmother, the restaurant is situated at the heart of the stylish Emporium precinct in Fortitude Valley.

So in celebration of their delicious plates, Delfina's Bistro hosted an exclusive supper for media guests and bloggers who would indulge and honestly review the menu.

Upon arrival we were seated and welcomed with a glass of red or white wine. Not long after, a plate of warm bread arrived at our table and that was my instant weakness.

Then we were brought two small plates, each boasting as appetizers. The first being the Braised Goat Mille-Feuille with onion puree, antichokes and potato foam, which was absolutely divine. It was tender and full of flavour, however it did taste more as a winter dish.

The second was the Cold Smoked Salmon with beetroot, pistachio, wasabi and vanilla which embodied all things spring and summer from the cool refreshing taste, to the visual appearance of colour and texture.

The Confit Pork Leg was an unexpected surprise when it arrived at our table. Amongst the porky plate, we encountered a rather complimenting detail of sauteed mushrooms.

The Whole Fried Fish with charred greens resulted in a delicate crunch anointed with a soy and citrus dressing. While the Slow Cooked Lamb Shoulder with mustard jus was masterfully subtle.

The sides were simplistic and easily won us over. The well-seasoned Potato, chorizo and thyme created a sizzling pop of flavour while the Roasted pumpkin, feta, pine nuts and coriander did leave us a little addicted.

It was a fabulous dining affair and the hint of a welcoming, homely-setting left us so comfortable that we were the last to leave.
