‘Les Petit Fours,’ Exhibition Opening

LesPetitFours01

The Friends of Leon Gallery has combined forces with beautiful.bizzare to present the ‘Les Petit Fours,’ exhibition. The exhibition draws together artists from around the world, with some showing for the first time in the city of Sydney. Each artist presents a square (53cmx53cm) portrait that explores the decadence of a Parisian bakery using their own unique artistic style.

Fashion Weekly was fortunate enough to attend the opening of the collection in Surry Hills and enjoy a night of stunning portraiture and indulgent cocktails. Perhaps the most intriguing part of the evening was observing the broad diversity between the artworks. From vibrant oils on canvas, to classic mechanical pencil on paper, there was a piece for everyones aesthetic in the exhibition. The artworks which one gravitated toward included Radiant Lights, (2015) by Young Chun which had an incredible vibrancy of colour and Daydream, (2015) by Kazuki Takamatsu, as its particular method of layering mediums made it appear enchantingly luminous.

If you missed the opening reception of this international group exhibition, it is well worth visiting the Friends of Leon Gallery and looking through the beautifully curated assortment of portraits.
