Easton Pearson has announced their shock closure

There have been numerous blows within the Fashion Industry of late, especially with the shock announcement that the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane has ended. Now, one of Brisbane's most iconic fashion brands, Easton Pearson, have declared they are officially closing down after 27 years in the business.

Designers, Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson, announced the shock news on their Instagram account, citing their exclusive interview with The Australian about their departure from the fashion industry.

“You will read today in The Australian some exciting and perhaps sad news about the future of Easton Pearson. After 27 years of intense, exciting and fulfilling and productive collaboration, Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson announced today that they will close their eponymous clothing brand Easton Pearson, after a special limited release of pieces into their Brisbane store. We wanted to personally thank you for your support and loyalty and hope that you will celebrate with us,” said Easton and Pearson.

Renowned for their bright and bold aesthetic, the label has made waves nationally and internationally for their quirky collections. The designers long running success was recently celebrated in Vogue Australia's 180° issue in October, 2015. However, despite the labels discontinuation, the brand has announced that their collaboration with Designer Rugs and Bird in Hand will continue.

We're incredibly saddened by the loss to the Australian fashion industry, but we wish the very best of luck to the designers for the future.
