The wait is over! Zara has finally arrived in Brisbane.
The flagship store opened its doors on November 20 and judging by the fashion crowds excitedly awaiting the opening, Zara is sure to be a hit!
Zara’s first Brisbane store is right in the heart of the city, at 155 Queen Street, directly opposite of what will become Uniqlo and in close proximity of H&M. With the retail space expanding over 1,600 sqm across three levels and departments - including Zara Woman, Zara Man and Zara Kids – the flagship store caters for a variety of Queensland customers.
The store design features Zara’s latest global retail concept combining beauty, clarity, functionality and sustainability. The combination of sleek white surfaces, a neutral backdrop and great lighting create an inviting shopping experience where it is easy to max out your credit cards.
The impressive womenswear selection spans across two levels and includes Zara Basic, Zara Woman and Zara Trafaluc; there’s no doubt you will find an outfit for every occasion!
Zara Woman has the biggest selection of hot off the runway pieces including chic separates, evening dresses and a collection of seasonal outerwear. To ensure customers have the best shopping experience, bags and shoes are styled throughout the store to match the garments. This means putting a stylish outfit together is quick and easy!
The more popular pieces this season are off-the-shoulder tops, monochrome pieces with accents of burnt orange and marsala and two-piece sets in bright prints; which can be rocked together or worn separately. To dress up your summer evening dresses, the range offers chic kimono-style blazers, capes and vests.
As the name would suggest, Zara Basic contains an array of chic wardrobe staples. Whether you are looking for the perfect pair of office trousers or that staple summer tee, Basic offers a variety of colours and cuts. Popular prints for this season in the range include florals and subtle graphic prints and of course the hero for basics – stripes!
Zara Trafaluc spans across the stores second level with modestly priced garments ranging from bohemian-chic pieces to softer, more feminine dresses. Trafaluc accommodates for the hot Brisbane weather with light fabrics, distressed denim and soft colours.
The lower level of the store is shared between Zara Man and Kids. Once again accommodating to our climate, Zara Man features tropical prints and light fabrics. To dress your man for a more formal occasion, there are a wide variety of stylish suits in funky fabrics like velvet and glitter with textured lapel detailing.
The newest addition to Brisbane’s main shopping strip marks an important moment for the Queensland fashion industry. With the recent launch of H&M in Queen Street Mall and the upcoming openings of Uniqlo and GAP in the near future, this is an iconic fashion moment for Brisbane.
As these popular International fast-fashion chains continue to expand into the heart of Brisbane, questions are raised about not only how they will compete against one another but how this expansion will affect Brisbane’s independent boutiques.
